Hi! I'm Clara, an audiovisual and literary translator and proofreader from Spain.
I was born on a Sunday, so they say I'm one lucky bug.
I like playing —with words, cards, dice, consoles—, as well as animation, mythology, puzzles, birds and, above all, things done right. I love reading and writing and I sing all day long.
Professional profile
I have a Translation degree and a master's degree in Audiovisual Translation: Localization, Subtitling and Dubbing, but since one can never stop learning about the things you love, a master's degree in Literary Translation was added to that. Apart from the language pairs I work with, I also know a fair amount of Russian and Italian, with Japanese, Spanish sign language and Arabic as my next goals.
From pneumatic drill manuals to humanitarian action reports, all through fantasy novels, wedding dress reality shows and board games, I have worked with a wide array of texts and can adapt to all and any subject or format. In my spare time, I like collaborating with anthologies or fanzines, or translating for myself.
All of this, in addition to my experience both as a Spanish as a foreign language teacher and as a tutor at the Spanish University of Distance Education for Oral and Written Communication in Spanish (I and II) and Syntax of the Spanish Language (I), has made me a creative and thorough language professional, always eager to keep on learning and do my part to help however I can.
